As you know, earlier this week the president terminated the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) Program, which affects members of our local community. This message concerns instructions from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service about deadlines for DACA renewal filing. Please read closely if this is relevant to you or someone you know.
Per USCIS, if a current DACA recipient’s benefits expire after March 5, 2018 then they would have to have a renewal filed on or before today. After today through October 5, 2017, only DACA renewals where the requestor’s DACA expires on or before March 5, 2018 will be accepted and processed. Here is a video of his work with students from our community! Some students were from Logan Elementary!
Dear Logan Families, In partnership with the City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor Policy Department, the Logan staff has been reviewing our parking lot procedures before and after school. Please take a few minutes to review this brief video that outlines the correct procedures to follow when entering and exiting the parking lot. It also highlights a few changes that will go into effect beginning Wednesday, November 2. The Ann Arbor Police Department will be in the area enforcing these new rules. Thank you in advance for your efforts to make our arrival and dismissal safe for all of our children. Sincerely, Will Wright Fall Festivals/Halloween Logan does not celebrate Halloween with any school-wide activities. Individual classrooms have small parties, often referred to as fall festivals. Please refer to your child’s teacher for further information. Although we hope all families enjoy the creativity associated with this holiday, we also know that the anticipation of “dressing up and role playing” at school can be a distraction all day long. To this end students do not wear costumes to class celebrations. We do encourage everyone to wear their costumes to Beats and Treats on October 28. We know that our children will enjoy the small classroom celebrations at the end of an otherwise full day of learning. Costumes for Beats and Treats, Friday, October 28, 6:00 to 8:00 In order to assure a fun time for everyone during our Beats and Treats PTO Event, please follow these guidelines when choosing a costume to wear.
